^^^ Our Wolf Cubs are usually born about Nov. 20th. each year. I work with our cubs handling them to keep
them in bond with humans, so, they will keep bonding with humans up to about 70 days.
But, best bond with these cubs is about 35-70 days old. When we had pure wild wolves, the cubs would not bond well after
30 days. Best bond then was 21 days. But, our wolf cubs now are 1/4 to 3/8 Siberian Husky which are the best cross of
all
the crosses we tried. They make good companions and are very loyal. They are very good watch dogs. Wolves don't bark much.
But, they let you know if anything unusual is going on. Our friends and I have tried several different combinations.
Malamute cross were gentle with humans, but had too much killer instinct regarding other animals.
German Shepard cross were too aggressive. Rottweiler cross are usually deadly. If you obtain our cubs after 70 days old,
and keep working with the cubs, they will usually bond very good, but not quite as good as in the first 70 days.
When you get our cubs in the first 70 days, they regard you as wolf family. Our Wolves have cubs only once per year.
In the fall 2002 our wolves were born two months early due to what we think is earth changes?
Wolf cubs were born September 13-20th. 2002. Terms of sale is cash only, $295.00 each. Had 10 cubs this year, 5 male and
5 female. Three cubs are already sold as of 10-25-2002
We usually have wolf cubs for sale every year from around Dec. 27th. to Jan. 30th. Now, we don't know when
they will be born next year because of earth changes. We cut way down on the wolves we own, because it cost too much to
feed as many wolves as we once had. An adult wolf eats a 40-50 pound sack of dog food every month. Next year, our two
female wolves will have about 12 wolf cubs for us to sell.
We usually have about 6 cubs to each litter. I pick one cub out of each litter as my top choice. Sometimes, I charge more for
my top choice if I want to keep one. But, last time, a Fish and Wildlife agent, offered me $450.00 for my best pick and I sold
her to him.
Buy early to get the best wolves of each litter.
There is much propaganda each year about cross bred wolves
being unpredictable and dangerous. Most of what you hear is outright lies and disinformation. Some crosses like German
Shepard or Rottweiler can be unpredictable and dangerous. But, it is the dangerous domestic dog genes that make them
dangerous, not the wolf genes. Rottweilers and pitbulls are usually dangerous even when not crossed with a wolf.
When you cross a wolf with a Siberian Husky, and they are normal and healthly and have not been abused, they are no more
unpredictable or dangerous than a pure Siberian Husky. In fact, wolves are usually more predictable than domestic dogs.
They are creatures of habit. Wolves and our Siberian-Wolf cross are totally predictable. I've been raising wolves for
several years and have read everything available on wolves. I know what I'm talking about! Most dogs and wolves are no
better than the owner! If you have an owner who is a jerk, the animal will be a jerk or dangerous. Dogs and wolves are
exactly what you train them to be! If the owner abuses the wolf or dog, it will be dangerous. But, with our wolves,
a stranger can walk with me into the kennel, the stranger can pick up a wolf cub, and our wolves will not attack nor
bit. With domestic dogs, I'd watch my back. But, not with wolves. They are totally predictable. Even out in the wild,
usually you can walk up to a wild wolf den, pick up the cubs and the wolves will not attack. They will stand off at a
distance and only watch. We find wolves more civilized and predictable than humans.
Wolves can climb like a cat when they are stressed. But, I've never had a female wolf go over a 5 foot
fence when not severly stressed. The female wolves that went over 5 foot fences were wild wolves and being chased by
people with nets. I've never had one of our female wolf crosses go ever a 5 foot fence. When a bitch is in heat, male
wolves can go over any fence. It is usually impossible to stop a male wolf from getting over the fence when a bitch is
in heat. I have 8 foot fences. But, our male wolves can get over 8 foot fences any time they want. But, when bitches
are not in heat, I've had little or no trouble with wolves climbing over our fences. I keep 32 inch wide ground wire
around the edges of our fences on the inside, so the wolves can't dig out. The ground wire lays on top of the ground
weighted down with concrete blocks about every 7 feet. The ground wire is just 12 gauge field fence. For virtical fence,
field fence does not work well for the bottom 5 foot of wolf fence. Twelve gauge Horse Wire works perfect.
I use 5 foot horse wire for the bottom part of the fence and use field fence for the top 3 feet of wolf fence. But,
I don't think most wolves will go over a 6 foot horse wire fence when trained to stay in the kennel. Some of our
friends keep their wolf crosses in four foot fences and had no problems. They punished them every time they got out of
the kennel. It did not take the wolf crosses long to understand. But, I'd go no lower than a 5 foot fence. That seems
to be the magic lower limit. Six foot horse wire or chain link fence is the best. Six foot horse wire is about $129.00
per 100 foot roll at Dell's farm supply. I use railroad tye for corner posts and 10 foot steel posts to build 8 foot
fence.
Never physically strike a wolf or wolf cross. That is not the way to punish a wolf! It is fine to tap
on the muzzle mildly with a small stick or your hand. But, not hard, only mildly. Wolves correct each other by mildly
biting the muzzle. I punish our wolves by confinement or with a bb gun pumped very low. I also vebally punish them.
Wolves are very much smarter than domestic dogs and learn much faster. If you physically abuse a dog or wolf, they can
be dangerous. Animals and children should be train with praise, not by physical violence. Wolves are very good with
small children. Wolves adore babies, that is why wolves have been known to raise human children. But, I would not leave
any animal with a small child unattended. Small children have the habit of abusing animals and animals will defend
themselves. Wolves play much more violently than domestic dogs. I'd not recommend roughhouse violence when playing with
a wolf-cross. Any kind of violent play can make animals more aggressive. Unless you are training an animal for police
duty, I'd, not recommend playing violent games with a wolf-cross. Play ball games and none violent games. Human children
are the same way, that is why we have all the violence in America. Television violence breds violence into human
children. Disregard the propaganda you hear on the media. It is the media in America that is dangerous, not the wolves.
If you believe what the news media tells you about any subject, you should be ashamed of yourself for being so ignorant!
Look at the rest of my website, and you will understand why I make such a statement!
When I cut down on my wolf population, I started using part of my kennel to raise ducks and geese.
At first my wolves wanted to jump on the birds either to play or kill? But, after I punished them, I was taking my
youngest female Angel in the duck and goose pens when I feed the ducks and geese and had no problems. Then, I bought
some Silkie Chickens and assumed the wolves would not bother my birds. But, Angel brought me a chicken in her mouth.
I scolded her and she put the chicken down and the chicken ran off unharmed. Now my adult wolves do not try to harm
my birds. One morning, I put my oldest female wolf Lakota in a pen by herself because she kept beating up Angel. It is
a pecking order thing like we find with men. The next morning, I found Lakota in the pen with my ducks and geese.
I still don't
trust leaving the birds in the same pen as wolves. But, even though Lakata was in the duck and goose pen all night,
she did not harm any birds. I do allow my wolves to kill mice, moles and wild rabbits. That way, they are able to take
care of themselves just in case they become lost out in the wild woods. But, I never allow my wolves out of the kennel
unless I'm with them, because, people like to shoot at my wolves for sport. So, which is the most civilized, wolves or
humans? Wolf cubs out in the wilds like cats do harm small animals for sport, but, adult wolves only kill for hunger.
That is why I'd never allow a young untrained wolf cub in with my ducks. My wolves kill what I train them to kill,
just like humans in the military are trained to kill other humans. So, men might be almost as civilized as wolves?
I wish the media would become civilized and stop putting out dangerous propaganda about wolves and stop lying to gain
support for unjust wars.
